Juliette was found near Jessica's front door. Initially, our beautiful Juliette seemed to have simply lost her way, as is often the case with juvenile porcupines. But, wanting to catch her to move her to a more suitable place, Jessica eventually informed us that Juliette was badly injured.

Her admission to the sanctuary allowed us to see that she had a huge, very infected wound on her tail, full of parasites, most likely the result of a collision with a car. Fortunately, X-rays showed no other injuries.

A long recovery then began. The veterinarian was even very afraid of having to amputate her tail. But our Juliette was combative and, above all, very comical. She made us laugh with her little cries similar to a human coughing when we had to force-feed her at first, because she wasn't eating.

So, with a joyful and sad heart at the same time, we released her. One last look to thank her for having crossed our lives. She is probably at the top of a tree, eating bark. We hope she will have many baby porcupines from a handsome Romeo!
