The lives of Tite-Roche and her brother began sadly when a trapper killed their parents but spared the two young ones. One of the babies was weaker and unfortunately died after two weeks of intense efforts to save him. Tite-Roche miraculously survived this second ordeal, the loss of her brother. It must be said, the beaver is the most difficult mammal to save and rehabilitate that the sanctuary has received to date. This species needs to bond with its caretaker, which is unusual in rehabilitation. It must always see the same one or two people. Otherwise, it develops stress-induced stomach ulcers and dies. It also needs two years of rehabilitation before it can be autonomous and released, which does not simplify the task for the sanctuary. Fortunately, Tite-Roche was able to be released. She now contributes to Quebec's precious wetlands! Long live Tite-Roche!
